Easy Eggless Cardamom Buns

Making Buns are always close to my heart! This is such an Easy Eggless Cardamom Buns you will love it! Buns are making your life easier. You can make a whole lot of it and store in fridge or freeze for an ready breakfast! Doesn’t it sound good?

I went through a lot of recipes by doing a research with doctor “Google”, and finally this recipe has become one of my favorites. Its reminding my college days when went to the cafeteria for some fast munching snack in the evening. They have a sweet bun that is stuffed with coconut and loaded with sugar.

Me and my friend S munch those buns with some discussion about how class went on and thoughts about tomorrows assignment preparation…hold on. Do you really believe me if i say so? ha ha.. i was just kidding, we had chit chat mostly about bunking the class.

For Dough:
  • 195 g (1 + 1/2 cup) All Flour Purpose
  • 180 g (1 + 1/2 cup) Wheat Flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp Ossoro's Cardamom Essence
  • 1/2 cup Warm Water
  • 1/2 cup Warm Milk
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Honey
For Filling:
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ossoro's Cardamom Essence
How to make the Dough:
  1. Whisk the flour, salt and cardamom powder. (reserve 1/2 cup flour)

  2. Mix 1 tbsp sugar, warm water, warm milk.

  3. Mix in yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom the yeast.

  4. Once it becomes frothy, add in oil, honey and Ossoro's Cardamom Essence.

  5. Mix all together and form a dough.

  6. If its too sticky add in flour to make it smooth.

  7. Knead the dough for 5-8 minutes till smooth.

  8. Cover the dough and rest for 10 minutes.

Make the filling:
  1. Mix in the filling ingredients.

  2. Roll the dough to a rectangle shape.

  3. Apply the filling and make the shape as required.

  4. I made it like a book folding in thirds. Then cut it in strips of 1" size. Twist and roll it to form buns.

  5. Brush with milk and top it with chopped Almonds.

  6. Cover and raise for 20-25 min.

  7. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 min until its nice and golden brown.
