You read the title right. Yes! Today we are going to learn all about Eggless Tres Leches Cake. I am excited to be sharing this recipe with you. Any dessert lover would easily fall for this beauty. If you haven’t tried Tres Leches, are you even called a dessert lover? I personally love Tres Leches and I’ve been wanting to try this recipe from a long time.  A couple of years ago, I tried the recipe of Tres Leches with egg and posted the recipe in my blog. Many of you have been asking me for this eggless Tres Leches Cake recipe. I am happy that I am sharing this recipe with you all!

Eggless Tres Leches Cake

I would like to throw some light on a few details about Tres Leches Cake. Tres Leches Cake is called ‘Three Milks Cake’ as it is soaked in three kinds of milk which are condensed milk, evaporated milk and heavy cream. Did you know that? The Spanish word Tres Leches literally translates into ‘3 milks’. Originally made in Latin America, Tres Leches recipe was very popular in Mexico in the 19th century.

If you are looking for a lovely dessert option for a party or for your sweet tooth cravings, this eggless Tres Leches Cake would be perfect. I bet, you cannot just stop with one bite. The most prominent restaurants in India have Tres Leches on their menu for a sweet ending. Tres Leches has been customers’ favorite all the time. Due to this quarantine period I am not able to get heavy cream, so I made it just with evaporated milk, whole milk and condensed milk.

Eggless Tres Leches Cake

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Condensed Milk
  • 130 g (1 cup) All purpose Flour / Maida
  • 40 g (1/4 cup) Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

To soak:

  • 1/2 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1/4 cup Condensed Milk
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream

Instructions
 

  • Prepare a deep kadai with a stand or a flat surface that can hold heat. This is to spread the heat throughout the kadai. Close with a lid and let it preheat.
  • Prepare a 6" pan by applying oil and butter paper.
  • In a bowl, add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and whisk it.
  • In another bowl, whisk oil and condensed milk till combined.
  • Add in powdered sugar and mix.
  • Whisk in the dry ingredients just till combined.
  • Pour it in the prepared pan and bake on stove top oven setup for 20-30 minutes.
  • Prick with a toothpick and check if it comes out clean.
  • In a bowl, mix all the three under soaking.
  • Once the cake is cool to touch, remove the butter paper at the bottom of the tin.
  • Using a fork, prick the cake all over.
  • Pour the soaking milk till its absorbing.
  • Keep it refrigerated for an hour, then top it with cream and fresh fruits.
  • Serve with more milk if required.
