Hope you are talking more about Brand Collaborations after my previous posts. Here is yet another much awaited topic of “How to pitch Brands as an Influencer?“
If you are here, then you have already started collaborating with Brands! First of all, my Hearty Congratulations for that baby step you have taken! It doesn’t matter whether it is a barter or a paid collaboration! Let me first tell you “what is pitch?” In business terms, pitch is an email/letter/presentation by one/more people to an investor.
How to pitch Brands as an Influencer
I am going to take you through my very first pitch to a brand. As you know, my first collaboration happened when I had 2000 followers. It happened because I pitched to the brand. I came across the brand on Instagram and checked their website for any contact details. Fortunately, I found a contact form for “collaboration”, through which I shared about my blog with my email ID and contact number.
After a day I got a call and it was from the same brand. I was super happy and I landed up collaborating with them for a long term. It just happened in a flow. After that collaboration, I didn’t care much about connecting with any other brands. Few months later I realized its important to pitch to many brands and that may or may not turn to a collaboration. So, before you start pitching you should be ready for lot of “no” and many will not reply.
Either you may pitch to a brand first or brand pitches to you. Either ways you have to put yourself first and ask for your value from the brand. How do you draft an email pitch that gives you the best possible chance of receiving “YES”? That’s what we are going to talk about today ‘How to pitch Brands as an Influencer’?
5 Things that you should include in every pitch:
When you are pitching to brand first:
- Have a clear subject line like “Collaboration for an Instagram post”.
- Your name and what’s your blog/Instagram about. Basically introduce yourself and share your links to blog/Instagram.
- Explain the brand, how their products are a perfect fit to work with you.
- Include your stats, like page views for a blog, followers, post reach and impressions for Instagram.
- Include your previous work for brands and links or photos of the same. If you have not worked with any brands, just include your latest work that you created for yourself.
Brand reaches out to you first and now it’s your turn to pitch your value:
- Start with thanking them for reaching out to you.
- Express your interest for collaboration.
- Ask them about the deliverables and timeline. Don’t forget to ask for their budget.
- Include your stats, like page views for a blog, followers, post reach and impressions for Instagram.
- Include your previous work for brands and links or photos of the same. If you have not worked with any brands, just include your latest works that you created for yourself.
