This Rich Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe is so delicious and it just satisfies your Chocolate carvings. Its so chocolaty and the chocolate cream cheese frosting is an absolute match.
It just has the basic ingredients, flour, oil, curd, cocoa powder and sugar. Usually I always prefer butter cakes over oil cakes, but this is an exception.
When I was going through Bake with Shivesh blog, I learnt how to deal with eggless cake recipes. This recipe is adapted from his technique of using the hung curd.
Using thick curd is the key to make this cake so rich. So use good quality yogurt or hung the curd for at least 3 hours or more to get a rich creamy yogurt.

Best Ever Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
For Eggless Chocolate Cake:
- 90 g (3/4 cup) All purpose Flour/Maida
- 30 g (1/2 cup) Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- pinch of Salt
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) Oil
- 135 g (3/4 cup) Castor Sugar
- 1/2 cup Hung Curd / Yoghurt
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) Milk
- 1/2 tsp Vinegar
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1/4 cup Cream Cheese
- 3 tbsp Ganache (chocolate + heavy cream)
- 1 cup Icing/ Confectioners Sugar
- Pinch Salt
Instructions
For Chocolate Cake:
- Measure all the dry ingredients and whisk it.
- Using a whisk, beat oil and sugar till mixed.
- Add hung Curd and vanilla extract.
- Mix Milk and vinegar, let it stand for 5 min.
- Whisk dry and wet ingredients together. Mix well till incorporated.
- Pour it in a loaf pan or 6" pan and bake it for 20-30 min.
- Let the cake cool down completely before applying cream.
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:
- Beat Butter and Cream cheese together till fluffy.
- Add Icing sugar and salt. Beat till mixed.
- Add Ganache and beat till incorporated.
- Rest it in fridge for 15 min.
- Then layer it on cake and top it cherry to serve.
